Our Story

Colusa Farms was founded in Naples FL, in 2011 by Jonathan and Isabel Way, a husband and wife team dedicated to growing the most sought after microgreens, baby-greens, mushrooms,  heirloom tomatoes and gourmet produce for fine Chef’s in Southwest Florida.

  A native of Colombia, Isabel was raised on a multi-generational family farm which is still in existence today.  After completing her degree in Environmental Sciences, Isabel moved to the USA and shortly afterwards moved to Asheville, NC, with her husband Jonathan.

 

 While in Asheville, NC both Isabel and Jonathan felt in love with the area’s passion for fresh local produce and developed the concept of “two hands one plate” – whereas your food should only be handled by the farmer and chef before it arrives on your plate.

 

 With a Masters Degree in International Business, Jonathan’s passion for building Aquaponics and hydroponic gardens started in his youth and blossomed from hobby to business after moving to Naples, FL, and meeting with local Chefs recognizing that superior quality can only be obtained by harvesting and delivering on the same day.  

Jonathan’s and Isabel’s commitment to superior quality produce and excellent customer service reflects the pride and passion for helping chefs create unique culinary masterpieces. Colusa Farms is like having a garden in your backyard…a true Chef’s Garden!
